Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) Analysis of Fuel Pump
The ADINA-FSI program is widely recognised as the leading code for the fully
coupled analysis of fluid flow with structural interaction problems.
In this analysis of a fuel pump, a rotating cam moves the diaphragm up and down.
The pumping action of the diaphragm draws the fuel in through the inlet valve
and forces it out through the outlet valve. Of interest to the designer is the
flow rate of the fuel in relation to the rotating speed of the cam. Note that
the opening (flow) and closing (no flow) of the valves are properly simulated in this
analysis.
