Question QU-012:

How can I get the AUI to plot my large model more quickly?

Answer:

If your model contains many element groups, you can use the following command:

CONTROL AUTOZONE=NO

This command must be issued before mesh generation (during pre-processing) or before opening the porthole file (during post-processing).

If you are working with a batch file, this command can be placed at the beginning of the file. If you are working with the user interface, this command can be typed in the Command Window.

The command CONTROL AUTOZONE=NO turns off creation of the automatically generated zones. By default (when CONTROL AUTOZONE=YES), the AUI creates a zone for each element group, geometry body, contact surface, etc. For large models, this process can be inefficient.
