System ID for Node-Locked License
This system ID is only applicable if you are using the ADINA node-locked license. If you are using the ADINA floating license, please see the next section.
To obtain the system ID of the computer that will be used to run ADINA, you need to install the ADINA System on that computer first. The system ID is NOT the MAC address of the ethernet card, or the hard disk ID number, or the IP address of the computer; it is generated as follows:
For Windows:
After you have installed the ADINA System, please run
Start > Programs > ADINA System N.n > Install Node-Locked License
Send the System ID to ADINA R & D to obtain the node-locked license password.
For Linux:
After you install the ADINA System, please run the adhostid program in the
<ADINA home directory>
cd <ADINA home directory>
./adhostid
Send the System ID to ADINA R & D to obtain the node-locked license
password.

From ADINA 9.1 onwards, the floating license program used is Reprise License Manager.
To obtain the Host ID for the floating license server, you need to install the ADINA System on the license server computer first.
For Windows:
Run the rlmhostid command using
Start > Programs > ADINA System N.n > Floating License > RLM Host ID
Send the host ID, and the host name of the license server computer, to ADINA R & D to obtain the floating license file. This information is also found in the text file 'rlmhostid.txt' in the %ADINAHOME%\RLM folder.
The floating license
file <filename>.lic must be placed in the
Then you can start the license manager using the rlm program in a command window.

./rlm -dlog rlm.log &
where rlm.log is the server debug log file.
The file float.html in the <ADINAHOME>/html/license directory contains basic information on RLM License Administration in ADINA.
For detailed information on RLM License Administration, please refer to the document RLM_License_Administration.pdf in <ADINAHOME>/rlm. Note that not all options described in the document are available in the ADINA System.
